Artace GM tablet is a combination of Diacerin, MSM and Glucosamine. This combination is used for cartilage regeneration.

Daicerin is an anthraquinone class of drug which is slow acting and used to treat joint diseases, swelling and pain in joints. It works by inhibiting interleukin-1 beta.

Glucosamine is an amino sugar which is a precursor in the biochemical synthesis of glycosylated proteins and lipids.It is anti-inflammatory and antiarthritic.

MSM is methylsulfonylmethane which is a chemical found in plants and animals and can be synthesize chemically. It is mainly useful in joint inflammation, osteoarthritis and chronic pain.

Diacerein:

It mainly act as anti-rheumatoid drug which produces its pharmacological action by inhibiting interlukin -1. It slows down the cartilage break and causes relief in pain and swelling occurring in arthritis. Diacerein is a slow acting drug which modifies the symptoms associated with osteoarthritis.

 

Glucosamine Sulphate

It is a amino sugar which stimulates the cartilage cell to produce glucosaminoglycans and proteoglycans which in turn causes healing of cartilage. It stops the succession of osteoarthritis. It also possesses anti-inflammatory properties.

MSM  ( Methyl sulfonyl methane )

MSM produces its pharmacological action as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. This action is supported as the sulfonyl group maintains the normal connective tissue. It is a source of sulphur for methionine.

  • Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredient
  • In pregnant and breast feeding patients
  • Patients with hepatic failure
  • Patients with renal failure
  • Sugar levels of the patients should be carefully monitored; glucosamine can cause insulin resistance
  • Cautiously used in diabetic patients
